José Jerónimo, MD, was formerly the senior advisor for women’s cancers with the Reproductive Health Program at PATH where he led the validation and demonstration of new molecular technologies for cervical cancer screening, development and evaluation of new treatment modalities for precancerous lesions of the uterine cervix, and implementation of new strategies for cervical and breast cancer prevention in several countries. José previously served as staff scientist in the Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the US National Cancer Institute. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Papilloma Virus Society and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP). In 2016, he was awarded the Jacqueline Sherris Healthy Partnering Award at PATH and the Distinguished Scientific Award by ASCCP. José received his medical degree in Peru and specialty training in gynecologic oncology at Peru’s National Cancer Institute, and he has more than 90 publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
